Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement for https://careers.gleeson-homes.co.uk/

This website is operated by Gleeson and uses recruitment software provided by Tribepad. This statement applies to all processes that allow users to search, register and apply for jobs.

We are committed to ensuring our recruitment websites are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to maintain an inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of technology or ability.

We aim to meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and follow the principles of the European Accessibility Act, promoting fair access to our digital services.

Accessibility Standards

Our website is designed to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, with the goal of achieving AA compliance. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:

  • Blindness and low vision
  • Mobility impairments
  • Cognitive limitations
  • Deafness or hearing loss
  • Speech disabilities

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the latest versions of JAWSNVDA, and VoiceOver)
  • Understand website content written in plain, accessible language

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

What We’re Doing to Improve Accessibility

We are actively working towards full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance. While some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible, especially as new features are introduced, we regularly review and improve accessibility across all candidate-facing processes.

Accessibility is assessed through:

  • Internal testing with tools such as WAVEWebAIMLighthouse, and VoiceOver
  • Usability testing with users who rely on assistive technologies
  • Collaboration with Tribepad, who conduct testing with real users and collect feedback from job applicants to improve the experience

Known Accessibility Limitations

Although we aim for WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, some areas may still present challenges:

  • Some screen reader labels may not be descriptive enough in older modules
  • Colour contrast may be insufficient in specific page elements, especially during hover states
  • Some dynamic elements may not announce changes correctly to screen readers

We are aware of these issues and have planned improvements scheduled for release.

If you encounter any problems, please get in touch using the contact details listed in this statement.
